You can download the draft version of the book from the Prof. Gallager’s web page at MIT. The book may also be purchased online.

We will be studying Chapters 1,2,3,4,6 and parts of 9. In this excerpt from the book, which includes the preface and the Table of Contents, the names of the sections we will study have been highlighted. Some sentences from the preface of the book, which you are highly recommended to read, have also been highlighted.
