This course is designed to teach you concepts and theories in sport management area. The student shall understand and be able to apply these concepts and theories in sport environment. This course will also expose you to be familiar to the unique problems of athletic and sport clubs and organizations in Turkey.

COURSE OUTLINE
1.Introduction to basic management theories and approaches

Scientific Management Movement
Behavioral Management Movement

Contemporary Management Movement (systems theory, decision theory, human resource theory, contingency theory, total quality management, open book management.)

2. Managing Sport Organizations

Types of Workers in Sport Organizations

Management as a Process in Sport Organizations (Planning, organizing, staffing, leading, motivating, communicating, controlling, decision making).

3. Comparison of national and international sport organizations ( Youth and Sport General Assemble, National Olympic Committee , Federations, etc.)

4. Organizing Successful Tournaments and Event Management

5. Turkish Sport Confrontations
