In our study, we focus on the new synthetic procedures leading to the synthesis of pyrrole-fused heterocycles starting from pyrrole aldehyde and indol aldehyde where propargyl group is attached to nitrogen atom. We are searching cyclization reactions theoretically by using Gaussian 09 program package.Transition states will be calculated. The results obtained by calculations will be compared with those obtained from synthesis.

The chemistry of one electron oxidant has been used for years for oxidative addition of 1,3-dicarbonyls to alkenes to give dihydrofurans. These type of reactions have been studied extensively due to their biomedical significance and interesting mechanistic properties. In our study, cycloheptatriens, which is an interesting molecule due to equilibrium with its valance isomer norcaradiene, will be oxidized and mechanistic studies will be done.

Thienopyridinone and thienodiazepine derivatives are known for their diverse pharmacological activities. Thienopyridinones play an important role in inhibition of some enzymes such as glycogen synthase kinase-3β and regulation of various cell functions. They also demonstrate an interesting property in the repair of damaged DNA. In our study, we are planning to develop new synthetic method leading to synthesize thienopyridinone and thienodiazepine derivatives.

It is known that nitrogen containing heterocyclic molecules are invaluable compounds, mostly due to the variety of their important biological activities. Among them, pyridazinones and phtalazinones have distinct structures that leads to interesting biological activities, one example being the anti-cancer potential of 4-aminophthalizinones. Encouraged by these developments in the scientific world, the aim of our study is to achieve the synthesis of various substituted phthalazinone derivatives using gold catalysis. Ethyl 2-iodobenzoate will be the starting material
