EE 525 Antenna Engineering

Aim of the Course:

To familiarize the student with the engineering aspects of antenna systems for

communications, broadcasting, radar, direction finding, navigation etc. applications.

Grading Policy:

Those not attending any one of the midterm examinations will not be allowed to take the final exam and they will redeive NA grade

Course Outline:

o Radiation from equivalent electric and magnetic sources

o Review of of field equivalence principles

o Radiation from apertures 2Js and 2Jms formulations

o Microstrip antenna elements and microstrip antenna arrays

o Broadband antennas

o Reflector antenna systems

o Advances in antenna arrays

o Smooth walled and corrugated horns

o Lens antennas

o Feed networks for phased arrays

o ELF, VLF, LF, MF, HF antennas

o Antenna Measurement Techniques
