I)

An instructional design using Problem based Learning (PBL) H.Karaaslan, C.S.A?kun, Linda Kasper, and Jessi Qing Yi, May 1997

Project name: Facilitating Learning in a PBL Classroom

Abstract:

This instructional design is offering a workshop to assist the teachers to learn how to facilitate learning in a PBL environment. It is a five day workshop. The project audience consists of high school science and social science teachers who, are required to implement problem-based learning (PBL) in their classrooms. The skills required in a PBL environment are significantly different from those used in traditional classroom. After the teachers were informed of this-wide change, they participated in a series of training sessions concerning the principles of PBL, problem development, and peer collaboration within their school district. Participant will be asked to bring a problem from their content area to be used in a workshop activity.
