EE 543 NEUROCOMPUTERS - TWO NEURON HOPFIELD ENERGY

Instructions:

The surface given in the applet represents the energy function of a network with two neurons. ( where outputs correspond to x and y axes, the energy value for that state is the height of the energy surface at that point) The energy surface has two local minima, each corresponding to a fixed state( equilibrium state).

The blue point is used to represent the current state. The horizontal and vertical scroll bars determine the initial state. By scrolling these bars, determine an initial state and observe how the state is changing by using the local minima button so that the energy is decresing. Repeat the experiment for different initial states to find out the basin attraction for each equilibrium state.
