BS 716: Principles of Green Building Design and Delivery

CATALOG DEFINITION

Construction and operation of buildings provide enormous impacts on the environment. Energy, water and raw materials are used extensively and waste, which could be harmful to the world, is generated. To minimize these unwanted impacts, construction professionals are increasingly getting interested in designing-constructing and operating environmentally friendly buildings. To support these processes, parties need to understand the principles of how sustainability and green design principles could benefit the project life cycle.

By the end of this course, students are expected to:

  • Increase their knowledge of sustainable and green design,
  • Gain the techniques, methodologies and tools for green design,
  • Understand the project management stages of green design,
