Course Code: 5675290 (EE 5290)

Course Name: Microwave Circuit Design

Catalog Description: Technologies of microwave circuits; microwave circuit measurement and calibration; passive and active component modeling; layout and production concerns, yield analysis; packaging of microwave circuits; system aspects of microwave circuits; microwave circuit designs.

Credit: (3-0)

Proposed Semester: Fall

Course Objectives:

The main objective of this course is to introduce the practical aspects of microwave circuit design by:
- Introducing the microwave circuit production technologies,
- Covering design, production and measurement methods of microwave circuits, including CAD techniques,
- Discussing the necessity of modeling by relating ideal performance to required accuracy of the practical circuits, including coupling and packaging effects as well as behavior of external components.

It is aimed to acquire the students with practical microwave circuit design skills. In the meantime students will get acquainted with practical circuit components and design aspects by means of design projects.
