Bekir Özer Ay graduated in 2003 on Middle East Technical University, Department of Civil Engineering. He completed his M.S. research study on "Fragility based assessment of lowrise and midrise reinforced concrete frame buildings in Turkey" in 2006. He received his Ph.D. in 2012. The title of his Ph.D. dissertation is "A Proposed Ground Motion Selection and Scaling
Procedure for Structural Systems". This Ph.D. dissertation got "Middle East Technical University - Thesis of the Academic Year of 2012-2013" Award given by Mustafa N. Parlar
Education and Research Foundation.
His main research subjects are assessing earthquake damage and loss, characteristics of Turkish building stock, tall building structural systems, design and evaluation of temporary accommodation units, and selection and scaling of ground-motion records.
Currently, he is working as an Assistant Professor at Middle East Technical University, Department of Architecture. |
