WELCOME

I am a Ph.D. student and a teaching & research assistant at Middle East Technical University. Here is my CV for more detail.

Teaching announcements

I have no teaching duties during the 2017-2018 academical year, since I will be in Haifa for a research visit to Prof. Tuvi Etzion at the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology, supported by TÜBİTAK 2214-A Program.

Research work

In general, I am working on problems covered in algebraic coding theory and cryptography. In particular, I have studies on rank metric codes, subspace codes and finite chain rings. Here are some of my recent studies:
  • Preprints:
    • K. Otal, F. Özbudak and W. Willems, "Self-duality of generalized twisted Gabidulin codes" (submitted, link).
    • E. Martínez-Moro, K. Otal and F. Özbudak, "Additive cyclic codes over finite commutative chain rings" (submitted, link).
  • Book Chapters:
    • K. Otal and F. Özbudak, "Constructions of cyclic subspace codes and maximum rank distance codes", In M. Greferath, M. Pavcevic, N. Silberstein, and A. Vazquez-Castro (editors), Network Coding and Subspace Designs, Springer (in press).
  • Journal Papers:
    • K. Otal and F. Özbudak, "Some new non-additive maximum rank distance codes", Finite Fields and Their Applications 50, 293–303 (2018). doi:10.1016/j.ffa.2017.12.003
    • K. Otal and F. Özbudak, "Cyclic subspace codes via subspace polynomials", Designs, Codes and Cryptography 85, 191–204 (2017). doi:10.1007/s10623-016-0297-1
    • K. Otal and F. Özbudak, "Additive rank metric codes", IEEE Transactions on Information Theory 63, 164-168 (2017). doi:10.1109/tit.2016.2622277
    • K. Otal and F. Özbudak, "Explicit constructions of some non-Gabidulin linear MRD codes", Advances in Mathematics of Communications 10, 589-600 (2016). doi:10.3934/amc.2016028
