Horizon 2020

Project Title: Enhancement of research excellence in Mathematics Teacher Knowledge — MaTeK
Project Dates: 01.01.2021 - 31.12.2023
Responsibility: Scientific Coordinator

Mathematics has provided the foundations on which all science branches were built and developed. As such, mathematics is and will continue to be an important field of scientific research and education. This creates a need for more efficient and better trained mathematics teachers, a need which has not thus far been met. The EU-funded MaTeK project aims to change this. It will focus on developing and improving the Department of Mathematics Education of the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics of Comenius University in Bratislava. The actions the project will take towards this goal will provide the department with the opportunity to improve their practice by cooperating with other successful mathematics departments in various other universities. Project Title: Instructor Training Using Mixed Reality Technology
Project Dates: 01.09.2013 - 01.03.2016
Responsibility: Researcher

This project is aimed to train teachers in a virtual classroom environment against student avatars that are controlled using artificial intelligence. In this project, my team's responsibility is to create models to use in this environment to help teachers learn how to use technology in middle school mathematics lessons.

UCF PROFIT (2007-2010)

Project Title: Pictures Represent Opportunities For Inspiration in Technology (PROFIT)
Responsibility: Research Assistant

The PROFIT project is centered on the idea of introducing computer vision and imaging experience into the core curriculum of mathematics. It was designed as a novel model for training mathematics teachers to use pictorial IT, for transferring exciting, appealing modules into core curricula, and as a model for mentoring students through the last of their pre-collegiate years and attract them into IT-STEM careers. During the project our team created different modules with dynamic software programs for high school students to use in their mathematics lesson.
