Research Interests: Aberrant metabolism has frequently been implicated as a tumor promoting factor in cancer and has recently been denoted as a ‘tumor enabling’ characteristic. Our lab is interested in understanding the importance of metabolic pathways and nutrient restriction in the development of gastrointestinal cancers.

Wonderful start for Olka and Fatimah for their future career in research! Nov '21: Aydan has passed her Qualification Exam and is officially a PhD candidate! Congrats Aydan. Jul '21: Ilir's PhD paper has been accepted in Scientific Reports! June '21: Ilir has successfully defended his PhD thesis and will continue as a postdoc in the lab. Congrats Ilir.
